What is Lumecca IPL?
Lumecca is a powerful intense pulsed light (IPL) that is used to treat pigmented brown and red spots on the skin.
Lumecca improves the look of age spots, sun damage, vascular lesions, rosacea, and freckles. You can expect an improved skin appearance after the first treatment and multiple treatments can deliver even better results. Lumecca has a cooling tip that provides a safe and painless procedure for clients.
What you can expect during the procedure:
During the treatment there will be a bright flash of light from the device that feels like a light elastic snapping sensation. Redness and a slight warming of the skin are normal after the treatment and usually subsides within an hour. Over the next 1-2 days you may see a darkening of pigmented spots. In the week following the treatment the pigmented lesions flake off. After treating any vascular lesions you may see the veins disappear or a color change in the vessel which dissipates after a few days.
Sun damage and skin complexion results can be seen a few days after your first treatment. The skin will continue to look younger and more vibrant over time with the most visible results after 1-2 weeks. Having multiple Lumecca IPL treatments will help to improve your final result.
Most patients do not experience any side effects and any skin reaction usually resolves within a few hours. Patients may find they are sensitive to sunlight immediately after treatment. It is recommended to avoid direct sunlight and tanning.
