What Is Morpheus8 RF Microneedling?
Morpheus8 RF Microneedling is a treatment that combines the benefits of traditional microneedling with the benefits of radiofrequency energy into one single tool. Like traditional microneedling, the Morpheus8 uses a handpiece with ultra-fine needles that puncture the skin, causing micro-injuries. These microinjuries trigger the body’s natural healing properties, including collagen production.
As this helps rejuvenate the top layers of the skin, helping to tighten and soften fine lines and wrinkles, this combined tool also delivers radiofrequency heat energy into the underlying layers of the skin, allowing the treatment to revitalize both the epidermis and dermis of the skin. This combination helps deliver the ultimate anti-aging treatment.
How Does Morpheus8 RF Microneedling Work?
Morpheus8 Microneedling combines traditional microneedling with radiofrequency energy to not only stimulate collagen production but also help to exfoliate and tighten the skin, resulting in improved texture and tone. But how does it do this? The Morpheus8 tool uses over 20 micro needles that puncture the skin to a predetermined depth, causing microinjuries that stimulate collagen production.
When these needles penetrate the skin, radiofrequency energy flows through the needles and into the deeper layers of the skin. This unique handpiece allows the provider to move systematically across the treatment spot while also allowing for customized and precise energy delivery.

Morpheus8 treatment begins with an initial consultation to evaluate your skin, medical history, and develop a treatment plan that addresses your skin concerns. At the time of treatment, your appointment begins with the provider cleaning and prepping the skin to be treated. Next, a topical numbing gel is applied to the skin in the treatment area. Once applied, this can take as long as an hour to become numb and ready for treatment. Once numb, the provider begins moving the Morpheus8 device over the treatment area, allowing the needles to penetrate the skin and deliver the radiofrequency energy. The number of passes and amount of energy delivered during your treatment will depend on the size of the treatment area and your desired goals.
Your recovery after Morpheus8 can vary based on the intensity of the treatment and your body’s natural healing process. In most cases, you should plan for at least one to three days to allow the swelling, redness, and itchiness to resolve. In the first few hours after treatment, your skin will be sensitive and can be prone to infection, so you are advised to keep the treatment area clean and avoid touching the area. It is important to follow your aftercare instructions during this time and avoid direct sun exposure for at least a few weeks after your treatment. When you venture back into the sun, apply sunscreen to avoid potential post-procedure hyperpigmentation.
